Inhouse product
Crown Portland Composite Cement is CEM-II/A-M which is a cement consisting of Clinker, Gypsum, Pulverized Fuel Ash (PFA), Blast Furnace Slag and Limestone designated by the recommendation of BDS EN 197-1: 2010; CEM -II/A-M (V-S-L), 42.5 N. PCC is the most suitable cement for constructions in Bangladesh.
Fineness of Crown Portland Cement CEM-I is tested by air permeability method-Blaine Test. The specific surface of cement is commonly varying from 300-350 m2/kg.
Soundness of Crown Portland Cement CEM-I is tested by the Le-Chatelier method and Autoclave Method. Crown cement maintains the range of expansion less than 10.00 mm (Le-Chatelier method) & 0.8% (Autoclave Method) respectively.
The setting time of Crown Portland Cement CEM-I is tested by Vicat test method. Initial setting time for Portland cement is not less than 45 minutes. According to BDS EN Standard, there is no specific requirement for final setting time for Portland cement CEM-I but for regular practice crown cement maintains final setting time is not more than 375 minutes.
The compressive strength of Crown Cement CEM-I is tested using compression testing machine. For Portland Cement CEM-I, 02 days compressive strength maintains ≥ 20 MPa and 28 days is ≥ 52.5 MPa
Crown Cement maintains all the chemical parameters according to BDS EN 197-1:2010 standard requirement as well as ASTM Type-I requirement. Chemical testing is done using gravimetric analysis and most ultramodern EDXRF analysis. The major testing parameters are Loss on Ignitation, Insoluble Ratio, Sulfate Content as SO3, Total alkali content, Chloride content, Lime saturation Factor , CaO content & some Others.
We ensure consistent quality control at every stage from raw material acquisition, production & up to dispatch. Our plant is well equipped & supported by a powerful in-house modern laboratory with the latest state-of-the-art equipment’s for quality control and continuous development in the products. In addition to the well-equipped and furnished chemical and physical laboratory, we have highly qualified foreign trained chemists/engineers and skilled technicians with long experience in the field of cement who are absolutely dedicated to their day to day work.
For acquisition of raw materials, all materials are tested by QA & Lab department before they are imported. After getting the QC passed certificate raw materials are approved for import & production of cement. At the time of cement production samples of cement are also tested each and every hour frequently. For quality assurance of cement, it is tested on various parameters. To do that, the chemists of Crown Cement PLC conduct Blaine, setting time, the compressive strength test by making concrete/mortar cubes for different test at-3 days, 7 days and 28 days, as per ASTM C-150 guideline, and 2 days & 28 days as per BDS EN guideline at quality control at laboratory. Chemical test also done according to standard requirements. After conforming all the parameters cements are permitted to deliver in highest quality to our valued customers.
